Steve is also the sole inventor of the "Double Drop Clutch" which at long last is now available to purchase worldwide from hollandsteve96@gmail.com
Steve has always had to use an X-Hat as he plays double bass drums and needed the sizzle sound that the single drop clutch could not give.
He already owned a single drop clutch which was only a two position clutch, but he would not use it as it would only allow the top Hi-Hat to drop directly on to the bottom one, hence not giving the sizzle sound that his X-Hat provided. So Steve took the original single drop clutch idea and added a second lever making his clutch a three position clutch, that when hit with the stick, would not allow the top Hi-Hat to drop directly onto the bottom one, thus producing an adjustable gap (set by the drummer) supplying the sizzle sound that his X-Hat gave.
The "Double Drop Clutch" was born.
Steve found that his idea saved kit set up and break down time and also there was no need to purchase an extra set of Hi-Hats or X-Hat arm, thus saving the drummer £300.00 to £500.00 depending on the grade of Hi-Hats purchased.
Please understand that due to BREXIT, the rise in the cost of materials, import duty, VAT and the change in freight rules and charges, the pricing of the Double Drop Clutch has had to increase also to £70.00 + postage and packaging.

Steve, his new clutch, doh! NO HAIR !!
New clutch
The new version of Steve's "Double Drop Clutch" has rivets that replace the screws on the older unit. These screws can work loose, thus creating a wider gap in the top box section that can cause unwanted play in the two levers, ending up with the clutch not functioning properly. Also the new version has a protective sleeve in the centre of the bottom shaft preventing the top cymbal from cracking due to metal on metal contact and a locking nut to ensure that the top cymbal does not work loose during performing.
